Volunteer Spring Cleanup Day at Christ Church - Canceled

The Wandering Priest - April 26, May 3, 17, & 24

The Rev. Ann Urinoski will serve as the Wandering Priest for the months of April and May. Visit with Christ Church's new Priest Associate on Wednesdays at the Greenville Brew HaHa! from 2 to 4 PM.

Bus Trip to the Washington National Cathedral - April 29

The National Cathedral Association is sponsoring a bus trip to the Washington National Cathedral on Saturday, April 29. Our rector, Ruth Beresford, is leading this day-long pilgrimage. The Gothic Cathedral includes magnificent music, stained glass, stone carvings, needlepoint, and gardens. The bus will depart at 8 AM from the lower parking lot at Christ Church and leave Washington at 5 PM to return to Wilmington by 7:30 PM. The cost is $75 and includes Eucharist, a private tour, a special pilgrimage tour, and time for the gardens and gift shop (lunch is optional for an additional $11). All profits support the Cathedral’s restoration and preservation.

Family Promise Program - April 30 & May 14

Please join The Rev. Stephen Setzer and Carolyn Gordon, Executive Director of Family Promise, as they talk about Christ Church's new ministry with Family Promise of Northern New Castle County. During the week of September 17-23, 2017, Christ Church will become a host site for families who are experiencing homelessness. This is an awesome opportunity and responsibility and one which requires a lot of volunteer support. Come to one of these sessions on either Sunday, April 30 or Sunday, May 14 at 10:15 AM in Parish Hall A to learn more about this new ministry and how you can get involved!

Newcomers Reception - April 30

Those new to the Christ Church community are invited to an informal gathering on Sunday, April 30 at 4 PM in the Commons Room. This is an opportunity to ask questions, learn more about Christ Church, and connect with existing members and clergy. We will share light refreshments and conversation before moving to a short service of Evening Prayer that will end by 5:30 PM. Come as you are; the attire is casual, and children are welcome.

Vestry Elections - April 30, May 7, & May 14

The Parish Voting List contains persons eligible to vote in the elections, according to our parish bylaws. To review this list, log in to our Parishioner Section and select Resources by clicking here.  In an effort to increase voter turnout for this year's Vestry elections, we are offering voting on three Sundays (April 30, May 7, and May 14) and introducing online voting. Click here to vote online.  Absentee ballots are available in the parish office until May 19. Election results will be announced at the Annual Meeting on Sunday, May 21.

Life at Christ Church - May 3, 10, 17, 24, & 31

Do you want to learn more about Christ Church? Do you want to learn more about Christianity? Are you considering becoming a member of this worshiping community or want to be Confirmed or Received into the Episcopal Church? If so, then this is the class for you! This is the preparation for adult confirmation and reception into the Episcopal Church, when we host a diocesan Confirmation service on June 4 at 4 PM.  We will meet on Wednesdays in May at 6:30 PM in the Commons Room for a light supper and our program led by the rector.

Golf Outing at Bidermann Golf Course - May 4

Our annual Christ Church Golf Outing will be held at Bidermann Golf Course on Thursday, May 4 at 1 PM. The fee is $160 per golfer for non-members of Bidermann and $60 for members. That includes green fees, a golf cart, a sleeve of balls, a box lunch, and prizes. It will be a team scramble to determine who wins the "Rector's Cup," so all levels of play are welcome. We are limited to 24 players.

CCEP'S Annual Gala & Auction - May 5

CCEP's Annual Gala will take place on Friday, May 5 from 6:30 to 9:30 PM, and we will celebrate with a Cinco de Mayo theme. Please plan to join us for a celebratory evening of music, great food and drink, lively bidding on our silent and live auction items, and a guaranteed good time. All proceeds benefit the children and faculty of the preschool and allow us to offer the finest early childhood education in the area. Click here to purchase tickets.

Friday Night Bites - May 12

Join us for our final Friday Night Bites of the program year on Friday, May 12 from 6 to 8 PM in Parish Hall B. After a successful St. Patrick's Day evening in March, this month we are celebrating Cinco de Mayo (a few days late). If you would like to participate in the fun, please bring your favorite Mexican dish to share. Beverages will be provided. Even if it has been a particularly busy week, please come and unwind with fellow parishioners and enjoy an evening of food and fun with friends, new and old. Entertainment will be provided for your little ones, and Bingo will return with some fun prizes. We look forward to seeing you there!

Choral Evensong - May 14

Treat your mom on Mother’s Day by bringing her to church to hear beautiful choral music! Come enjoy Choral Evensong for the Fifth Sunday of Easter on Sunday, May 14 at 5 PM in the Church. Led by the Christ Church Choir and Clergy, the service will include the Phos hilaron, William Farris; Responses, Robert Lehman; the Evening Service in D, Leo Sowerby; and the anthem, Rejoice in the Lamb, Benjamin Britten. Wesley Parrott, Organist and Director of Music at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Cathedral Road, Philadelphia, will play a 30-minute organ prelude beginning at 4:30 PM. A special reception will be held on the lawn following the service, and a surprise will be provided for all moms in attendance. Please join us!
