Our choirs invite your participation and will hold an Open House during the month of September. Come to a choir rehearsal and check it out! Rehearsal for the St. Cecilia Choir (adults) is on Thursday, September 21 from 7 to 8:30 PM in Parish Hall A. The St. Nicholas Choir (grades K-2) rehearses on Thursdays, September 21 and 28 from 4:15 to 5 PM in the Chapel, and the St. Gregory Choir (grades 3-9) rehearses on those same dates from 4:30 to 5:30 PM, overlapping with the St. Nicholas Choir for 30 minutes. These choirs assist our congregation in worship, form bonds of affection between participants, and offer, especially for children of our parish, excellent musical instruction and camaraderie. Questions? Contact Bruce Barber (adults) or Nadine DiLorenzo.

Acolyte Training - September 23

The Acolyte Ministry at Christ Church is an integral part of our worship. Acolyting is a wonderful way to serve as a leader in the parish, to develop new friendships, and to learn about the holiness of worship. Youth 13 years or older who have participated in the Rite-13 Liturgy are invited to join. A hands-on training session will take place on Saturday, September 23 at 10 AM. Please contact Jane Rubini if you would like to serve as an acolyte.

Car Wash Fund-Raiser - September 24

The 6th-8th Grade classes will hold a car wash on Sunday, September 24 at 10 AM in the lower circle drive parking lot to raise money for cancer research. The youth in these classes have family members affected by cancer, and this is their way of helping to stop the disease from hurting other families. SUVs are $15; cars $10.

Christ Church Growth Groups Begin in October

Christ Church is launching a new ministry called Growth Groups beginning the first week of October. Growth Groups are small groups of people (usually 8-12) who gather together regularly in a home, a coffee shop, a workplace, or anywhere they want! In a Growth Group you’ll read the Scriptures, pray together, and share your experience of faith. Using a sermon-based model, we’ll provide both the biblical text from Sunday and some starter questions for the groups as we begin our journey of discovering what God is saying to us through the Scriptures. In October, Ruth, Stephen, and Ann will lead groups in their homes where you can see firsthand what Growth Groups are all about. Click here to be a part of one of these groups. To learn more, contact The Rev. Stephen Setzer.

Life at Christ Church - October 1, 8, 15, 22, & 29

Do you want to learn more about Christ Church or about Christianity? Are you considering becoming a member of this worshiping community or want to be Confirmed or Received into the Episcopal Church? If so, then this is the class for you! We will explore the meaning of church membership in the Episcopal Church and will meet on Sundays in October at 12:30 PM in the Commons Room for a light meal and our program, led by the rector. Child care will be provided. Click here to register for the series.

Choral Evensong and Blessing of the Animals - October 1

On Sunday, October 1 we celebrate the Feast of St. Francis with Choral Evensong and our Blessing of the Animals at 5 PM in the Church. All are invited to bring their pets, great and small, to this service. We will gather in the circle in front of the Church and process into the Church at 5 PM. In the event of inclement weather, we will simply gather in the Church. Evensong will be led by the Christ Church Choir and Clergy and will feature the Christiana Canticles by John Rutter and Benedicite omnia by Kenneth Jennings.
