The Christ Church Choir is seeking new choral musicians for the 2025-26 season. This 111-year old, fully professional ensemble is the principal ensemble at Christ Church. The choir sings every Sunday at the 10:30 AM Holy Eucharist, once a month at Choral Evensong (October-June), for special services throughout the liturgical year, and for concerts at Christ Church and in the greater Wilmington/Philadelphia area. The choir routinely rehearses twice a month on Wednesdays, though additional rehearsals are required throughout the year. An annual schedule is published during the summer months. This year, the choir will be in residence at York Minister, York, UK for one week in July and will sing Messiah with Tempesta di Mare for two performances at Christ Church and two performances in Philadelphia in December.

The choir’s repertoire ranges from Plainsong and 16th century motets to modern day commissions by some of the Anglican Communion’s leading composers. Our commitment is to each other as members of the ensemble, to Christ Church’s ministry of music, and to our larger community. We sing a vast amount of repertoire each year; consequently, excellent sight-reading skills, ensemble sensibilities, vocal control, and superior musicianship are all prerequisites for membership in this choir, and we welcome all regardless of religious affiliation or faith practice.
