We’ll keep watch throughout the night, tending a sacred fire and making prayers in the silent and darkened church. Our efforts will form a bridge of watchfulness from the Order of Compline and the lighting of the fire at sunset until the clergy commence the first of the Easter Day services with the Great Vigil of Easter. Please contact Kris Younger to schedule an hour or more of contemplative and restorative vigil. An Ounce of Prevention During Cold and Flu Season With the outbreak of the flu, the clergy will be taking a few precautions, and we ask you to do likewise when attending worship. - Choose alternate forms of greeting and for sharing Christ’s Peace if you are concerned about infection. A reverent bow, wave, peace sign, fist bump—consider alternatives to the handshake.
- The clergy will be using hand sanitizer after the Peace and before we serve Holy Communion to minimize transmission. You might consider keeping a supply on hand as well.
- If you intinct dipping bread in the common cup take care your fingers do not touch the chalice. Hands tend to have more bacteria than lips. Parents, please assist your children. You make full communion when you receive in either kind, so consider receiving only the bread/wafer if you have been unwell.
- If you miss worship and would like to receive communion, please contact the Church Office to schedule a pastoral visit from the clergy or a Eucharistic visitor.
