What is prayer?  We often consider prayer as a way to communicate our needs to God. And prayer is that and so much more.  Prayer is central to the standard operating procedures for the spiritual life in Christ.  We pray as a response to God, with or without words, alone or in groups, sitting still or walking a path.  We complain in laments and confess in penitence. We praise God in gratitude and plead with God in intercession. Sometimes prayer is silent, sometimes sung.  Jesus taught the disciples to pray, and we are learning still, practicing prayer on Quiet Days and Retreats, in weekly groups, or on the Labyrinth path alone.  The clergy are available to consult with you about the practice of prayer.  To make a prayer request, click here.
