Parish Life
Preemptive Peace

"Will you strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being?"  So we are asked in our Baptismal Covenant.  A group of parishioners are examining this concept and exploring what it might look like on a local level and how it might be expanded beyond our parish.  All are welcome to join with this group as they strive together to fulfill that covenant through education and action.  Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 7 PM in the Third Floor Conference Room.

Plans are under way to finish the 4-part Cheryl Sadeghee series from last year.  Look for a date soon for this event!  In the meantime, join us at our next meeting as we explore possible activites for the fall of 2008, including:

  • an education series involving adult/youth and adult/parent relationships
  • an introductory presentation on the regional peace and global justice group, Pacem in Terris
  • a possible collection of expressions of interest and concern from individual parishioners about peace and justice issues
  • an introductory meeting about the Thresholds inmate life decisions program so interested parishioners can learn about it and get involved
  • a possible outreach program to recent military veterans

If you would like more information about this group, please contact Barbara Nyce or David Nuttall by filling out this contact form.
