Each month, parishioners are encouraged to bring specific items to church for donation to a worthwhile agency or cause. Items have included such things as: non-perishable food for the Food Bank of Delaware, school supplies for children served by Brandywine Village Summer Camp and First State School, toiletries and towels for Friendship House and Ronald McDonald House, and food, baby items, and cleaning supplies for the Latin American Community Center. In addition, each December we collect Christmas gifts for needy children through the Advent Doves project. Any agencies interested in being considered for a collection should contact their Outreach Committee liasion or Ben Osbun.
Collection bins are set up in the vestibule of the Parish Center near the circle drive and in the back of the Church.
March Collection
During March, we are partnering with La Communidad Hispana to provide food and Easter treats for low-income Hispanic families in the Kennett Square area. Please bring your food donations of tortillas, rice, pasta, dried beans, canned tomatoes, and corn to the collection bins in the Church or Parish Center. You may also contribute $15 toward grocery gift cards to be used for fresh food such as meat and produce. Make checks payable to Christ Church and mark “Easter dinner.” Another option is to pick up an Easter egg for a child at Coffee Hour on March 7 or 14. Then return a basket with treats for them to the coat room in the Parish Center near the circle drive. We ask that all donations be completed by Monday, March 29.
