Our youngest children are provided child care in the nursery on the lower level of the Parish Center, with care provided during the 9 and 11 AM worship services and during the 10 AM Enrichment Hour.

3- and 4-year-olds

We have expanded our Godly Play program during the 9:00 worship hour. 3- and 4-year-olds are grouped together to encounter the word of God and the rituals of the church in a Montessori-based, multisensory, hands-on approach to Christian formation and education. The children are introduced to and enter into the religious language by hearing the stories of God, wondering and responding to the stories, praying together, and being surrounded in a child-friendly worship setting. The Godly Play classrooms provide a threshold of sacredness, safety, and wonder. The children are encouraged to enter into the presence of God through discovery and play. This is one place where our children’s ideas, opinions, and gifts are deeply respected. Not only do our children learn the stories of God, but they also are encouraged to explore their spirituality through prayer and theological reflection. In addition to Godly Play, we also enhance our Sunday morning experience with Children’s Worship. Using worship techniques that speak to all children’s learning styles and needs such as sign language, music, and special worship materials, we give children an opportunity to enter into the presence of God.

At 10:00 children are escorted to the Nursery for a snack and free play.
