Church School

Our spiritual commitment to our children and youth is deep at Christ Church. We recognize that as members of the body of Christ, we are responsible for the development of faith in our children and youth. Baptism is the beginning of a life journey of faith. As the needs of each child change during their life, we meet those needs in different ways. We uphold the Children's Charter for the Church, and we strive to adhere to its guidelines. Specifically, the Children's Charter calls us to receive, nurture, and treasure each child as a gift from God. The church is also called to nurture and support families in caring for their children, acting in their children's best interest, and recognizing and fostering their children's spirituality and unique gifts. Finally, in ministry of the child, the church is called to foster community beyond the family unit, in which children and adults know each other by name, minister to each other, and are partners together in serving Christ in the world.

Our Sunday morning schedule during the fall, winter, and spring is as follows:

9:00 AM Worship Hour

• Children 2 and under - child care available
• 3- through 8-year-olds - Godly Play
• Children older than 8 years old - worship in church with their families
• On the first Sunday of each month, all are in worship with child care available for younger children.

10:00 AM Enrichment Hour

• Children 2 and under - child care available
• 3- to 8-year-olds - special fellowship programs
• 3rd through 6th graders - small group curriculum
• Youth - Journey to Adulthood
• Adults - options designed by the Adult Education Committee
• On the first Sunday of each month, parishioners of all ages join for refreshments during the 10 AM hour.

11:00 AM Worship Hour

• Child care available for young children

Summer Church School

During the summer months, Nursery care is available for children under the age of 3 at 10 AM, while 3-year-old through 2nd grade children gather in the undercroft of the Church at 10 AM to explore the Saints of God, returning to worship with their families at the time of the Peace. A different saint is featured each week.

Vacation Bible School - August 17-21

Join us for fun, crafts, music, and games while we celebrate the “light of God in each of us” at this year’s Vacation Bible School, August 17-21, from 9 AM until 12 noon. The program is designed for 3-year-olds through those in 4th grade, and children of non-members are always welcome! The cost of the program is only $10 plus a 64-ounce bottle of apple juice for each child.

Interested in helping? We have opportunities for everything from assistant teachers to snack moms and dads. Teens can earn community service hours by serving as junior counselors too! Please contact Kathy Seeman or Lisa White.
