The Reverend Ruth Beresford, Rector
Ruth Beresford was elected by the Vestry to be the 15th Rector of Christ Church in 2007. She loves gathering with the children of our preschool, journeying with our youth as they seek God, leading worship, praying, teaching, and sharing the faith in Christ Jesus that sustains and strengthens the church for its ministry with people of all ages. Ruth has been in ordained ministry in the Episcopal Church for 25 years, but she looks to bring a fresh approach to connect Christian faith with life's contemporary challenges. She has two adult children and is married to The Rev. David Beresford.
The Reverend Stephen Setzer, Associate Rector
Stephen grew up in North Carolina and is a graduate of Pensacola Christian College with a degree in history and education. He found The Episcopal Church while studying at Dallas Theological Seminary. After living for a year in Honduras, teaching English and religion, he completed his theological education at Wycliffe College, University of Toronto. Stephen's first years of ordained ministry allowed him to expand his passion for outreach ministry at the Cathedral Church of St. Matthew in Dallas, Texas. He began his ministry at Christ Church in June 2015. Stephen and his wife Yoana are newlyweds.
The Reverend Ann Urinoski, Priest Associate
Ann is a "cradle Episcopalian" who discovered her vocation for ordained ministry while active in campus ministry at the University of Delaware. She graduated from UD in 2010 with a major in English Education and spent a year in the Young Adult Service Corps, serving in a college chaplaincy program in Cape Town, South Africa. While completing her seminary education at the General Theological Seminary in New York, Ann was an intern at St. Mark's Church, Basking Ridge, ordained a deacon in Advent 2015. She was ordained a priest in June 2016 in the Diocese of New Jersey and continued serving St. Mark's Church as the priest in charge while the rector was on sabbatical. Ann began her ministry here at Christ Church on Ash Wednesday 2017.
Bill Lane has been a priest for more than 50 years. He was ordained in the Diocese of Maryland, where he spent the first 12 years of his ministry. In April of 1975, he and his wife Beverly came to Delaware as he assumed his responsibilities as Vicar of Saint Nicholas' Church in Newark and Coordinator of Christian Education for the Diocese. Eleven years later, Bill joined the clergy staff of Christ Church Christiana Hundred and remained here until 1997 when he was elected Dean of the Cathedral Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He retired on January 1, 2006, and he and Beverly returned to Delaware. Since retiring, Bill has served as interim at Ascension Church in Claymont, the Cathedral Church of St. John, at St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Middletown, Delaware, and here at Christ Church. He also served at Sts. Andrew and Matthew for the first year after the closing of the Cathedral. Bill and Beverly have one child, Elliott, who lives in Washington DC.
The Reverend Calhoun W. Wick, Pastoral Associate
Cal Wick graduated from the Virginia Theological Seminary and began his ministry at Christ Church. Four years later he became the first Protestant Clergyman to become a Sloan Fellow at MIT's Sloan School of Management, where he graduated with a Masters in Management. Since 1980 he has been a non-stipendiary Priest in the Diocese of Delaware following in the footsteps of St. Paul who earned his living making tents while giving his ministry to the church without charge. In work Cal is the founder of Fort Hill Company, a business focused on the application of learning, and an author of four books. For the Church, Cal is a Pastoral Associate at Christ Church and for the Diocese serves on the Trustees. Cal is married with five children and 11 grandchildren.
